The Village of Stratford is located in the southwest portion of Marathon County, Wisconsin, at the intersection of State Highways 97 and 153.

Named after the Canadian hometown of the Connor Family, Stratford began as a “company town” in the late 1800’s, settled primarily by lumberjacks and farmers. Now, more than 110 years following incorporation in 1891, Stratford bursts with a diverse population nearing 1,600.

Whether a newcomer, a life-long resident, or looking for a place to call “home”, Stratford offers affordable housing, excellent public and parochial school choices, a rich park system, various church affiliations, thriving business and industry, and many recreational opportunities … all within this welcoming community!

We welcome you and invite you to explore Stratford and all it has to offer!
